About

Following in the footsteps of the Hudson River Artists (1825) Luanna expresses a modern take on such monumental artwork that create depth and a sense of looking through trees, river and sky. The popular artist is known for her use of Silver leaf and 24ct Gold submerged onto and beneath layers of oil, acrylic and Indian ink, creating layers of transparency and perspective, often interpreted as landscape connotations.

Each brush mark, smear, line, is intertwined with the next and each layer represents her exploration of sexuality and how we connect with different relationships and friendships.

Painting has helped Luanna to express her emotions and feelings, opening her world to both love and hate. Each painting is a reflection of herself, colourful, joyful yet built of layers of hurt, trauma, pain, love, loss, shame and joy. Both liberating yet damaging.
